Kim was on the phone with the doula and she said with the contractions Kim is feeling and being 10 minutes apart, this may be the real deal! Will keep you posted... Todd 9:05 pm

Helen Grace Elgie The newest member of the clan graced us with her presence (no pun intended) at 3:20 am Three hours of hard labor following 22 hours of regular labor led to a c-section; she just would not come out. But when we found she was 9 lbs and 4 ounces, we all understood a little better. Kim is recovering, I am at home, and I will post more details soon. Todd 4:45 am P.S. Here are some pics

Mom and baby are doing well... and a lot of resting! Helen's nursing great also... I hope they can come home tomorrow evening, but it may be Friday morning.

Mom and Helen are doing great! They will probably come home tonight. A few more pictures Kim's mom is on her way from Houston, so that is nice. Thanks for all the e-mails! :-)

Kim's coming home this evening... I got the small car seat in the minivan... We have the "It's A Girl!" stork in our yard from the flower shop... :-)

Whew! We finally made it home... Jack is in his own bed and Helen was just put in her bassinet... We are all pooped! 10:19 pm

We're all home... yea! Here is some video for your viewing pleasure... when you click the link, if it doesn't play, you need to download and install Real Player On with the show... This first one is of Jack... one of the things we did to keep him busy while we were waiting to leave... Here is Jack saying "baby" it was so precious :-) he says it right at the end, AND he did his 'baby sign language' sign for baby while he said it This one is a tear-jerker... Since Kim had a c-section, that's basically surgery, and she can't drive, lift anything heavy, etc. Helen is about the only thing she's allowed to pick up. Well, Jack earlier in the evening wanted Kim to pick him up, but she couldn't, so he had to settle for sitting on her lap... This video is when Kim picked up Helen, not very long after Jack was wanting her too...

Well, Todd has had his input on how Helen's birth was and for a moment I am out of the new mother fog. 27 Hrs. of labor was more than any of us had ever imagined. Helen is doing well. She is a good nurser and less fussy than her older brother was at her at. Jack is adjusting slowly and is doing well with all of the changes. I am exhausted most of the time but know that I will in a few months sleep again. Thank you all for your emails and letters they are a great source of encouragement. Kim
